I have been adopted!

Vinnie was available for adoption at a local shelter, after being picked up as a stray. When we first met him, he was scared and shaking in his kennel. We pulled Vinnie from the shelter and he settled nicely into his temporary foster home. He is a perfect gentleman in the house and his favorite thing to do is to lay by the feet of his person. Vinnie also likes to play with toys and tennis balls. He is a little leery of new things, but his confidence continues to grow. He gets along well with other dogs and is fine with cats.

Vinnie is now participating in our Rush to Rescue program, so he is currently being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility. While there, he will be attending a training program with a certified trainer and will be working on his commands with his handlers.

Info from Vinnie's Handlers:

A perfect day for Vinnie includes anything he thinks will make you happy. He is a bit stand-offish at first, but once he warms up to you his is a very happy dog that wants to do whatever you ask him to do. He is very mellow for a younger dog, but likes to play hard with other dogs. Tug-of-war with other dogs is a favorite of his. He also loves to fetch a ball or his stuffed toys.

Vinnie would much rather be with his people or with other dogs, but is okay being left alone for periods of time too. He plays with his toys by himself to pass the time and is always up for a good nap until you get home. He is fine in a crate when needed, but is okay being left out. He doesn't get into things or chew inappropriate things. He'll just play for a bit, then take a nap.

Vinnie is up for whatever his day will bring. He loves being outside and loves to lay around and nap just as much. If it makes his people happy, he will be happy to do it.
