I have been adopted, and I am in my FOREVER home!!

Baxter is a six-month old puppy who is very friendly and goes up to meet everyone he sees. He will roll over for anyone willing to give him a belly rub. Baxter loves to play with his toys, and is content entertaining himself if he has to. He gets very excited when he sees other dogs and assumes they all want to play with him and much as he wants to play with them. Baxter has been around cats, but really likes to chase them, so he would need to work on leaving them alone if they aren't dog-savvy enough for him. Baxter is crate-trained and house-trained. He is starting to work on loose-leash walking, as well as other basic obedience commands. Baxter can be somewhat mouthy, so one of our primary focuses will be to help him eliminate that behavior. Baxter currently weighs 34 lbs., but he has some pretty large paws to grow into.

Baxter is participating in our Rush to Rescue program, so he is being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility. While there, he is attending a training program with a certified trainer and has been working on his commands with his handlers.
